Do you believe in Occam's Razor (the simplest explanation or strategy tends to be the best one)?

Just Thinking

The unit is going through briefings for deployment back to home station. Of the many presentations, there was one in particular that was brought up by the chaplain, that I found interesting:

The emotional rewards of sitting your kids/grand kids on your lap and telling them war stories (nothing graphic, nothing traumatizing). Talking of brother and sisterhood, talking about how 'things were', and how they are now.

One day want to do that. Maybe not my own kids, but friend's kids? It sounds like a great way to heal after a deployment and feel a bond with those back home.

Just a quick question, what format do you take your photos in; regular jpeg, or in raw or something else? All the colours in your photos are very sharp and clear, and I'm just wondering how you get them like that.
:iconpathwaytoterminus:
I take it in uncompressed JPG and ensure that in the process of resizing and adding borders/text, that nothing gets compressed. I go from JPG to TIFF or PSP format (so that layers are stored), back to JPG for posting on DA. In the end, I have two files: the layered file and the JPG that gets posted. I've found that the sharpness is retained 99% of the time. The only time you may want to consider switching formats, is if there are a lot of reds, as those tend to bleed out in JPG, but do very well under BMP, TIFF and PCX (as far as posting).
